Stacked is our sister site's mailbox sharing weekly feature.
In My Mailbox is now hosted at The Mod Podge Bookshelf!

I got quite a few adult titles this week so you'll probably see them over at Nite Lite sometime soon.

New books:

A totally awesome cookbook you'll find if you read all the way through the post

Opera A to Z by Liddy Lindsay
More than This by Patrick Ness
The Boy Who Swam with Piranhas by David Almond, illus. Oliver Jeffers

Here's the rest of my week in photos. It was quite eventful!

Power of Fandom panel at Barnes & Noble at The Grove

It was so much fun and we had a lot of laughs.
We even got MDM to write "Secret Tunnel!" in one of our Avatar graphic novels.
Then we sang the song on Instagram. Haha!

Michael Dante DiMartino, co-creator and executive producer of

As if that wasn't enough, the following evening we saw Neil Gaiman.

Geoff Boucher of EW interviewed him in front of over 1000 fans at The Alex Theatre in Glendale on Thursday, June 27, 2013 for LiveTalks LA.

He broke the great news about The Ocean at the End of the Lane debuting at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list (knocking Dan Brown's Inferno down to #2!). He gave a great talk, read to us from Fortunately, the Milk (Bloomsbury, due out Sept 9, 2013), and then signed for 5.5 hours with only a couple of 5-minute breaks in between. We were like, #950 in line it seemed. He signed the last book at 2:40 am, reportedly (we got out at 1:10 am!).

He signed my copy of Chu's Day and I barely had 2 seconds to say "Thank you!"... it was totally worth the almost 7 hours waiting for that moment.

After my friend's play reading at East West Players on Saturday (refreshments by Cake Girl!), I headed over to Ikea with my husband and our pal Kate and found this gem! It's Ikea's baking cookbook. For more about Fika, check out HuffPost and FastCoDesign. And stay tuned, since I'll be blogging about this here and on Nite Lite

Finally on Sunday, it was over 100 degrees in our apartment... I didn't do much. I couldn't even really focus long enough to read something. But I did snap this photo of my cat. I pretty much took a similar position on the couch for a few hours.

That's it for me!

What books did you get this week?
